AETHUS beginner guide
For the first sitting: finish the prologue, scan three times, camp beside the meteor crater and the main cave mouth, open the surface crate (code 0155, single-source), then build a Work Pad and the first drill. Upgrade the oxygen tank, Roland, and the scanner before the backpack.
This is an editorial route based on the earlier Curtis Completes chapter record and community guidance. Neither a video chapter title nor the later Seam X-5 jump requirement independently proves an optimal first-upgrade order. The priorities below are recommendations.
Order that keeps you alive
Put the camp near the main cave so you are not walking an oxygen timer. Euchale's hints say oxygen falls fast if you wander. You can skip the opening tutorial by clicking the first vehicle. That skip is in the same guide's FAQ.
- Oxygen tank, then Roland's jump and hover, then the scanner. Seam X-5 later needs the jump and hover.
- Shift-click splits a stack in half. Right-click moves the whole stack. X highlights resources. Delete drops an item.
- Crate 0155 is the surface crate by the crater. The log on the crate is Project Gaia Personal Log #0155F. One Reddit post is the only source for the digits.
Questions
What should I upgrade first?
As an editorial starting point, prioritise oxygen for longer cave runs, then choose Roland mobility and scanner upgrades to match your next objective. The later Seam X-5 mobility requirement does not independently verify that exact starting order.
Is this the official tutorial?
No. It is a community-informed route with public sources and a check date.
