AETHUS is a single-player, top-down sci-fi mining survival builder from Pawsmonaut Games. The full game and the free demo are Windows downloads on Steam. There is no official browser version.

This is a public-source guide, not a personal playthrough. PC release information is corroborated by Steam and IGN. Prices and review totals are dated Steam snapshots; publisher announcements and their press-release copies count as one evidence chain.

  • Seam X-5: community directions disagree between north of the Tau airlock and northwest by the lava lake. See /map/.
  • Ancient Bones: community sources place the fishing pool by Lambda in the Lost World. See /materials/ancient-bones/.
  • Power Cell: start with the clifftop blueprint report and the crafting recipe at /materials/power-cell/.
  • Empty Injector: the materials table gives the reported Biology Lab recipe and output at /materials/.

Current public announcements

Steam news lists gameplay patch 1.036 on 23 June 2026. Later studio posts include a different game announcement on 9 September and the AETHUS console/localisation plan on 18 October. The latter targets Q1 2027 and promises improvements for Steam and Steam Deck too. This is one publisher news source, checked 28 October 2026. See /updates/.

Questions

Can I play AETHUS online in the browser?

No official browser version exists. The full game (App 2541530) and the free demo (App 2822250) are Steam downloads for Windows.

Is AETHUS multiplayer?

Steam lists it as single-player. Remote Play is not co-op. See the multiplayer page for the sources.

When did AETHUS release?

Steam and the publisher both put the PC release on 6 March 2026. It was a 1.0 launch, not Early Access.
