Where to find Ancient Bones in AETHUS
Fish the swamp at Facility Lambda in the Lost World. That pool drops Ancient Bones, plus Skull, Jaw, Ribs, and Tail. It also drops Swamp Geodes. Nothing public states a drop rate, so this page does not invent one.
The readable Ancient Bones article agrees with the earlier Euchale fishing record. Euchale was re-read in the review browser on 2026-10-28 after direct HTTP returned 429. The exact three-bone contract and geode method remain single-source claims; no drop rate is published.
What the swamp drops
Euchale lists the Lost World swamp pool as Ancient Skull, Jaw, Bones, Tail, Ribs, Anti-Gravity Tech, Industrial Tools, Petroleum Can, Medical Supplies, Tangrite Geode, and Swamp Geode. A lure is crafted at the outpost electronics bench. One walkthrough prints the lure as 1 Tangrite Bar + 1 Basic Electronics + 1 Anti-Gravity Tech. That recipe has no second source.
What they are for
Patch 1.028, from Steam news, fixed Ancient Bones so they can be placed as decoration. A single walkthrough says Trudy's Buried History contract asks for 3 bones and raises RAPP to level 4. I am not treating the contract trigger or a chapter number as confirmed. Opening a Swamp Geode at the Prospecting Bench is also single-source for "bones inside the geode". The geode itself is in the fishing table.
Questions
Do I need a specific lure rank?
No public source gives a lure rank or a percentage. Use a crafted lure at the Lambda swamp and expect the whole drop list, not a guaranteed bone.
Can I place Ancient Bones in the base?
Yes, after patch 1.028. Steam news is the official note. Before that patch they could not be placed.
